Reef Dragon

Personal exploration; mouse in sketchbook express, 1 day. (Reefy Sea Dragon)

Imagine going fishing and discovering this beautifully terrifying monster wrecking the reef. An old friend from the deep went into hibernation and slept for a little too long. As a result she has awoken with an entire ecosystem attached to her back. This makes food easy but it means she can not fly. So she glides through her new ocean habitat and occasionally goes on land.

Watch out though as her big tail will womp you when she feels threatened or she may snap at you with her enormous fangs.

I put a contemporary lady with her cell phone on the bottom left for scale. The seaweed and eel are included for a different perspective. The reef dragon could be a river dragon instead and so the eel and reeds gives a sense of scale. Of course the dragon would be a lot smaller. I plan to keep on working on this concept in bits and pieces.
